The 30th annual Aberporth and District Horticultural show was held at Aberporth Village Hall on Saturday, August 25. It was a spectacular show to celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary.
The number of exhibits in several of the classes were up this year, and the quality was as high as ever. The committee was delighted by the enthusiasm and commitment of the exhibitors who have shown their support over many years. However they were again delighted to welcome new faces.
Chairman Rosemary Bowen welcomed everyone to the show and expressed her appreciation for the support of sponsors, exhibitors, judges and members of the public.
President for the day, Dr Gwyn Rees from Didcot, who was accompanied by his wife Angie needed little introduction as his parents have been greatly involved with the show for many years. Angie Rees was afterwards presented with a basket of flowers by young Tomos Davies, Dyffryn.
ViceChairman Mary Bott thanked the judges, stewards, exhibitors, tea ladies, sponsors, committee members and officials and all helpers for their hard work and their continued support in ensuring another excellent show. Mary was, as usual, in charge of the raffle, and the money raised will be donated to a local charity.
